Beyond The Tropes returns for the fall with Latinx Terror starting September 18th. We explore the writings of four authors who will take us on a terrifying journey with a mix of ancient evils, urban legends and stories steeped in noir. We will be reading the following works:
Queen of the Cicadas by V. Castro
The Devil Takes You Home by Gambino Iglesias
Children of Chicago by Cynthia Pelayo
Helminth by S. Alessandro Martinez
These stylish and haunting works take us beyond the tropes of traditional horror and into a nightmarish world of speculative fiction. In our discussions we will cover folklore, the use of the supernatural and the power of rural and urban settings. To participate in this workshop click here to sign up.
Hope to see you this fall.
